Zolva Portugal results from the acquisition of Multigestion Ibéria in 202. It intends to become a leading pan-European company in the Credit Management industry.
Zolva Portugal results from the acquisition of Multigestion Ibéria in 2021. For Raquel Alcoforado, responsible for Business Development in Portugal, being part of an international Credit management group with a presence in eight European countries is very important and this can be seen in the daily activity of recovering credit.
Zolva is a recent creation, which due to the experience and know-how of its founders, has a high degree of knowledge and experience in the Credit management area. Over the last few years, its strategy has been based on the acquisition of companies that are active and renowned in different countries, in order to immediately assume a leadership position.
Multigestion Iberia, in Portugal since 1998, was acquired in August 2021, and since its inception, the management team led by David Martin Ibeas – Regional Managing Director Iberia – Spain and Portugal – has aimed to grow in the national market and be market leader. The area of purchasing credit portfolios – in which Multigestión did not operate – is now strategic, as is the growth of those who work with us.
How does Zolva differentiate itself within the industry? Is it important to belong to an international group in this area?
What sets us apart is achieving results for our clients, and helping those who need help in a healthy and constructive way. We try to solve problems by analyzing the debtor’s capacity and will, giving priority to the will and finding solutions that suit the circumstances of each one. Being part of an international group is very important and this can be seen in the daily activity, in debt management, but also in the management of the company itself, and we are very satisfied with the way in which the integration process is taking place.
Credit management and recovery companies consider that they create value for their customers through increased efficiency that benefits customers’ treasury and avoids going to court, to give two examples.
What do you consider to be the main trends for the future of the activity and how will the sector evolve?
The tendency is to serve as a vehicle for improving the economy in general. Mora has not disappeared. As a credit recovery company, we are the party that facilitates the relationship between the creditor and the debtor. Banks cannot offer some solutions to their customers, but we can. Our position allows us to provide solutions that improve the financial capacity of the debtor, without this jeopardizing our client’s position.
In its presentation, Zolva underlines the importance of innovation, specialization and the ability to manage large volumes. How are these features important to customers?
All of this translates into quick contact with the debtor, customer response, portfolio management in which our customers know, in advance, that the portfolio is managed on the agreed date, and that we can move on to another phase of the process. , with the certainty that we did everything in the previous phase. The people who make up Zolva’s teams are extraordinary and, without them, nothing would be possible. This credit recovery industry is incredible, and contrary to what many might think, our activity is very important for the country’s economy. Being an integral part of this industry is something I’m very proud of.
